Phew, I can’t believe it has been over a month since my last post! Luckily, the aim is to make sure I blog at least once a month so at least I know I haven’t entirely left June out of the equation. Just a few more days left. This last month has been very slow and quiet on the running front, I’ve just been apathetic towards it all and needed time to unwind. Half Marathon preparation is beginning again this week so it should be going back to business as normal. This month looks like I will be running about 40 miles which is actually the lowest mileage I will have run in all of 2015 – that is insane!
I figure now would be a good time to revisit some of those January New Year resolutions and there are success stories and targets to continue to strive for…
Blogging consistently has been a relative success, the target was once a month and so far I am in line with this. I don’t think I will ever be a daily blogger as I lack the flair to sound interesting on a daily basis. Or am lazy, whatever sounds better.
I’ve also completed a half marathon and ran the entire distance without stopping. You can even read the race recap here. I somehow need to repeat this feat in October but at least I know I can do it as long as I stick my training plan. I also enjoyed the whole experience and it has proved to me that you can really achieve something if you have the resilience and put in the hard work. I’m smug proud, in fact I’m going to just pop my medal on now and finish writing this post. 😎
The aim for 2015 was 300 miles of running. I’ve completely smashed that already reaching 341miles so far. I reckon 500 will have to be the next milestone. I don’t know how much I will do over those long gloomy November and December nights.
Weight loss is always an issue for me. I start off with really good intentions and eat well but it never lasts. Dominoes Pizza is now on a first name basis with me and don’t bother confirming my address anymore as I’ve probably ordered one too many times – this can’t be good. I have managed to lose about 9lbs since January and most importantly kept it off. I’m going to make my target for the summer to get rid of another 5lbs bringing it to 1 stone weight loss in total. It’s achievable but running makes you SO. VERY. HUNGRY. The diet isn’t so bad but could be better. I just need time away from work to be able to focus on eating clean again so once school ends mid July, I’m back on 30 days Healthy Living.
So there you have it! A whirlwind June and I have still need to do a race recap from this month but I’m still alive and running and haven’t forgotten you all – I’ve just been watching America’s Next Top Model this whole time 👯
